This chap appeared in the square outside the office today. he just bounced his ball and spouted some nonsense; well actually to be fair I couldn't quite hear him, but he looks like the sort of person that would be talking nonsense, particularly as he was talking to no-one in particular. If he comes back I will be sure to listen more carefully..

Telford bridge

I love this footbridge over one of the channels in St Katherine's dock. Designed by Thomas Telford instead of the usual lifting or swinging as is most common with moving bridges, it retracts back in to the ground behind it, you wonder whether he did it just to show off... The other picture is of the other bridge in the docks that lifts in a more obviously dramatic way.

Ferraris en masse

I was on the way to Amsterdam for the weekend with my flatmate, and just outside Rotterdam we saw, going the other way, under police escort, somewhere over 100 Ferraris of all ages and models; i can only speculate it was something to do with the 60th anniversary celebrations,and unfortunately these are the only three photos I manage to snap.

A colleague had mentioned that the new Anthony Gormley statues that have been installed on buildings around London looked good from Waterloo bridge at dusk. So I found myself going for a run on Sunday via Waterloo bridge and he was right, it is an amazing installation, I will definitely be going to the area again. R,

More boats on river....I might be obsessed

As you might have guessed I spend a lot of time staring out of the window when I'm home, normally though one only sees the odd boat pass by, but today the river seemed to resemble the water version of the M4.

Recognising your surroundings

I walk this route everyday to get to work in the morning and home again in the evening. Almost everyday from Spring to summer there are tourists taking photos, normally of the Tower of London and Tower Bridge, but I like the docks as well. I was just struck that I take this for granted but people come to London to see this, and it made me realise that you should appreciate those things that are around you everyday.
